Hi!!! soo.. How is everyone? I hope all is well. Behold the errr.. uhhh.. Upcoming happy place for such amazing things for me. It gets a little chaotic here and there, but does it really matter? This website is a space dedicated to me; its progression is whenever I feel like it. Slowly but surely, content will appear on this website, and I'll probably never mention when it's finished lol. I'm interested in a lot of things; however, my main interests focus on programming, 2d art and illustration, music production/sound engineering, and photography/video production/editing, which I'd love to use all of those things to be an indie dev, or at least take care of all the things required to do it, you know? And well! Huh, yeah, the big point: WHY I CREATED THIS SITE?
Well, tbh, everything started around 2023-2024 when I finally felt motivated to begin to create my own site. I didn't know at first how to make the design or layout, but everything just went very smoothly after I figured that out later. Being honest with you guys, I'm just a dumb computer science girl who likes creating things since I was a kid, but I never believed enough in myself. In fact, before I started in the programming world, I was into Cybersecurity studies and Operating System stuff (Linux lover as usual). My story with tech is kinda boring at some point and pretty common.
My big brother studied computer science and moved to Czechia when I was 9 years old, so it was normal for me as a child to admire him and my other siblings as the youngest sister among the five of us. I wanted to be like him, but the more I missed him since he left for Europe, the more I wished I could do the same, so I would be able to see him again! All of my siblings are software engineers, and my family realized I was on the same path when my dad gave me a laptop for the first time. So yeah.
It was even harder for me when I moved to the US permanently, because I had to stop seeing my dad, who stayed in Venezuela. My other siblings moved to Costa Rica and the Czech Republic. Those years when I turned 15 during the summer, away from my dad and siblings, a lot of things happened. And funny or not, my safe space was technology! I spend months reading about software, aw man. Then I got a pink Nintendo 3DS XL and I installed my first firmware. Loved that so much.
Anyway, that's enough of my programming story. While I was writing all of this, I realized I just didn't answer totally why I decided to create Skye Journey lol. You see, I decided to create this website because I want a place where my memories can be in some place eternally, even if someday I am no longer here. A digital sanctuary where my dreams and thoughts can exist beyond everything. This isn't simply a website—it's a fragment of digitized soul, a temporal capsule! So yeah, it's that simple. Here, in this corner of cyberspace, I wanted my memories to be preserved through time, somewhere in this digital world where they could exist beyond my own mortality.
I realized later that I would never finish something as special as this, and that... that was precisely what prevented me from finishing it. The passage of time. Because when something is truly yours, when every element breathes with your essence, the idea of "completing" it becomes almost blasphemous. How do you finish a piece of your soul? This is my love letter to the digital eternity... In a world of constant deletion and digital decay, I've built something meant to endure—a constellation of thoughts, dreams, and memories that will shine long after I've become stardust myself. I like to think that I can also preserve the memory of others on my site, and that's so special for me.
I think the real eternity is impossible to catch. However, I also think this is the closest thing I will have to that... A legacy, even if it is just this. Idk. Ahh, sometimes I get so philosophical, sorry about that! I have so many reflections on my mind about all of this, and when I start writing, is just hard for me to stop. The same happens when I speak to friends, but yeah.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this journey with me! And of course, feel free to share your thoughts and experiences as well in the guestbook or chatbox. Uhhh, yeah, I think I may have extended this maybe too much. Hopefully, this will be a great experience for me to meet fun people on the web! ^^
